Algarve Climate!
The whole year around the climate of the Algarve is very pleasant. Even during the hottest time of year, a refreshing Atlantic breeze will keep it bearable. The values form the air and water temperatures are in comparison with other coastal regions very favourable. Besides that, the mountain chain of the Sierra de Monchique protect the Algarve very often for the bad weather fronts. In one year there are over 3000 hours sun shine. This is unique in Europe.

In this region springtime is more or less the longest season. The very much needed and common period of rain in December makes that already early January the first green patches appear and towards the end of this month decorates the whole surrounding landscape with the delicious Almond blossom. Also not to be left out, the orange groves where you find oranges almost the whole year around. Day temperatures are around 20°C, but an occasional shower - not appearing often though - is welcomed by the population this time of year.
This is the best time of year for people who enjoy walking, seek for quiet relaxation and especially golfers, because it is not to be expected any frost. The more enthusiastic and not so sensitive persons even go bathing in the ocean
Like this, Spring gradually passed over in May and June, towards the not very much shorter Summer, which lasts sometimes as long as into the month of November. In the summertime you can fully enjoy the beautiful beaches with their fine sand, romantic caves, bizarre rock formations and, last but not least, the crystal clear water of the Atlantic.
When we are walking along the coast in the Portuguese summer we can think about home, where we are deep in Autumn with its unpleasant weather, enjoying the unique rock formations, created by natures forces over more than thousand years. Suddenly a shower of rain catches us by surprise, we almost forgot that we are already at the end of the month of November. In about six weeks the Algarve Spring will be there again!!
