Casa do Castelo

Built on the highest point of the small village of Ferragudo, situated at the rivermouth of the Arade river, this villa offers spectacular 360 dregrees views towards the Atlantic Ocean, the fishermen’s city and marina of Portimão and towards the mointains of Monchique. On the ground floor you find the entrance hall with wardrobe, the dining room, a completely fitted kitchen as well as a recently renovated shower room with toilet. The garage is only used as storage space for the owners’ car and the garden furniture. Next to it is the heating room, with a washing machine. From the kitchen you can get to the various patio terraces at the back and besides the house.

On the first floor of the villa is the living room, with small study, there is satelite television and a music centre. Further you will find the 3 bed rooms and also a recently renovated full bathroom. The largest bed room has air conditioning. You can climb the staircase up into the spacious tower terrace with approx. 90 square metres. The villa has a solar-gas system for the hot water and heating, this is all running fully automatic. Descending various steps and tiny roads you will end up at the main square in several minutes. The way to the beach of „Praia Grande“ is also only 5-10 minutes on foot. This villa is only rented out in the two summer months; July and August.

Note from the owners:
In Ferragudo you are in a slowing growing village which typical character should be accepted and maintained . You will therefore have to get used to the children playing in the street untill relatively late at night and also the sounds of distance (or less) dogs “talking” to each other. In the morning you will probably be woken up by the cockerels.
We are very envious for all the sunshine the Portuguese have, but we do wish them from time to time a good North-european rain shower. Water is valuable. In time of drought, sometimes there is a water shortage and is the water turned off for several hours. For this we have a support tank with approx. 2.000 litres at your disposal. Also this runs fully automatic. In a foreign country everything is different, here the main thing is staying calm and relexed so you can enjoy your holiday at the most!
